I dont know if I applied it correctly, but I sprayed my chrome emblems and handles with plastidip.
It looked pretty EPIC!!! When I say looked I say that because the door handles I painted were starting to come off after getting in and out of my truck in 1 day. My emblems grabbed all my towel lint and started coming off too.
I was thinking of spraying my chrome grill and bumpers. After seeing it start coming off the places I already sprayed made me think if it was a waste of time to do the rest.
I see guys on here spray everything including wheels and I am wondering if anyone has this issue.
Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I cleaned the surface with soap and water. dried it. I actually used a heat gun to make sure it was dry. Spayed a coat used the heat gun on low and held it about 10 inches away. let it dry an additional 20 minutes between coats. a total of five coats. Thick enough I almost started losing the edges of the emblems.

Anyone else have this issue?
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I was able to rub it off rather easily on the wheels of my 2007. They were aluminum alloy, and were cleaned with brake cleaner and a microfiber cloth. I view PlastiDip as more of a method of seeing if you like the look of something black without committing to permanent paint.

How many coats did you do on the grill? When you washed it no edges peeled... If it lasted even a few months I would do it.

how did u prep it

I used soap and water. Cleaned it. Used a heat gun to make sure it was dry. I sprayed a coat. On everything badges and handles. Then went over it with the heat gun on low holding it about 10 inches away. Let sit for another 20 minutes.
I did this for 5 coats...

So you let each coat dry in between? For some reason, it being the "plastic (rubberish)" spray that it is I would believe the coat still needs to be wet when you put on another coat so they can mold together. I could be wrong, but seems logical in my head. Lol.

All I used for my wheels was a degreaser and windex I think. Lasted all winter just a couple spots where a piece the size of a dime has peeled. My badges I did the same and they have kept perfectly intact. I try to keep the pressure washer far away when washing too.

I tried a heat gun on my front emblems and it came out like ****. Peeled it off and redid it, let it dry naturally and came out awesome.
