I prefer the quad headlights on the 4th Gens and that’s why I put them on my truck. What most people do is install their new LED headlight bulb and drive. Then they form their own options about them and either love them or hate them. In this thread I am going to compare the AuxBeam to one of our preferred vendors new release Underground Lighting. And go over the proper installation. Both are H11 bulbs in a smoked black housing.
When I switched my headlights I went for the Auxbeam as they were $50 and had decent reviews and as we all know the canbus systems in our trucks are very picky. One huge factor in installing LED headlight bulbs is making sure the bulb is oriented with the actual led’s pointing left and right. Again when the bulbs are snug in the housing the led’s need to be sitting at 3 o’clock and 9 o’Clock. Most negative reviews on led headlights are either installed wrong or installed in projectors. Here are the Auxbeam 30W 3000 Lumen per Bulb
The original install was tricky to drill and tap the bulbs in order to orientate them properly. As you can see above their are extra holes drilled into where the bulb physically sits in the housings. The light output is good but when you pull up to a structure you can see the slight flicker in the light.
The Underground Lighting Bulbs were very different right out of the box. The cost of these are $199 and the saying you get what you pay for reins true.
Underground lighting is a preferred vender on this forum and the first thing I noticed was the all metal housings. These are 60W 7000 Lumen per Bulb
