I went to napa for my dist. cap, rotor, spark plugs, and plug wires, I believe the were made by beldin, another member on her suggested them and they work great. As far as plugs, idk whats the best for them, but i used autolight spark plugs and together all of these components made the truck run alot better. hope this helps

Can anyone tell me if I have to use inductive type plugs in my v10. I purchased a 2wd 1995 Ram 3500 recently with the v10 engine. It has not been driven in a few years and one of my first orders of business since driving it home is replacing plugs, wires, air filter, oil, oil filter, etc. I stopped at napa, gave them the specs and they sold me a set of plugs (NGK ZFR5f-11) that clearly states on the package "Resistor Type Spark Plugs". In the service manual I have, it states the following:

"The 3.9L V-6 and 5.2L/5.9L V-8 engines use resistor type spark plugs. The 8.0L V-10 engine uses inductive type spark plugs."

NGK's website says the following when comparing Inductive-Resistor Plugs and Non-Inductive-Resistor type plugs:

"In an Inductive Resistor design, a coiled nickel wire is inserted into the stem and held in place by a spring. The coil acts as an electromagnet, inducing a magnetic field around the center stem, creating a natural “field” resistor. This type of resistor creates around 40ohms of physical resistance, compared to the 1000-5000ohms of resistance in typical monolithic resistor plugs."

I would seem to me that the last line here I bold faced is important. What do I do. I don't want to put these plugs in if they are not meant to be run in this engine (the plugs previous owner had in here were ZFR6F-11). However, NAPA and NGK's site point me to this plug when I tell them what engine I have.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers~
