Ported tb

[Bad Habit]

Im looking into a ported tb in the classifieds on another forum ported by a diff member who no longer ports. I'm def interested as it for my 4.7 and is 68.5 mm bore and polished I hope it gives me noticeable throttle response like a fastman would but the price of this is great 40 shipped I'm just waiting on a few answers to questions I have... What do y'all think

That's what I'm thinking as I loved my fastman on my 99 318 and the throttle response was great and for it being an identical bore to a fastman I think it should be as good

I'm just worried about it not working if somebody else had issues but he has issues with a fastman on his truck too... Craig go check it out or everyone it's on df I'm not jumping until I'm sure, he's replacing a few things on his truck as he has over 100k and not sure if it's just wear and tear, so I gotta think this one thru, take the chance or wait....

For $40 you can't get hurt. If it doesn't run the way you want you can always resell it and get your money back.

Hope it all works out for you. Ported TB's are a fun mod specially around town. What was the other guys truck doing when it had issues with running it? was it throwing a code or just not working right?

Says he has a high idle or irratic idle at start up but does it with a fastman too... He's got over 100k and a he thinks its just his truck, he bought it off another guy who unmodded his truck for some reason... And bwdakrt is the one who did the port and polish he's made tons and no issues that I'm aware of...I hope all goes well it was shipped today

I have a fastman on my truck and long as you do a PCM reset you should be good.

MIne had/has a similar issue with the idle and the fastman TB. THe idle, specially with the ac on, will bounce up to 1200rpm and back down to 500 rpm and keep going till it levels itself out, didn't want to relearn the idle. I found out though that by adjusting my throttle sensitivity to a little less than where it was it corrected this for the most part. Check the plate style though and see if he gave it a "knife edge", that setting royally screwed my idle up to the point that it would bounce up as high as 1500rpm and down 300rpm til it stalled itself out.

speaking of that.....UPS shows they were delivered. Did they get to you ok? I valued them at $50 with UPS.
