I have a 2007 Ram and I would like to have the older, flush-style taillights from the 2002-2005 Ram. If anyone wants to swap with me in the Portland area then let me know and we can meet up.

They won't just "swap".

It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to modify the wiring, though.

It's a lot more involved than that. The 07-08's use a two bulb system vs the three that the 02-06's have. If you'd like, I can post a picture tomorrow of the wiring harness that I have. I did the swap on my 06.

I was aware of the 2-bulb vs 3-bulb system, but I'm not exactly sure why this should pose much of a problem? I'm making the assumption that the older system has a 3rd parking light bulb on the side and the newer one doesn't. Am I off on this?

A photo would be great, thanks!

So couldn't you just cut (and cap off) the extra wires in the older truck, then splice that extra plug into the newer truck? I'm pretty experienced at 12V wiring, so this shouldn't be too hard... I think it will be harder to find someone in Portland willing to make the trade.

On the 07-08's one wire does both the brake lights and the turn signals, while (if I am wrong correct me) I believe on the 02-06 one bulb does brake lights, one does turn, thus having separate wires. So, in a way the wiring would have to be split up from the front back.

I've seen some trucks that did it, so I am not too worried about it. It shouldn't be too hard.

Sooo... if anyone here is in the Portland area and wants the newer taillights in their truck just give me a shout here. If I haven't posted, then the offer is still open.

if nobody trades with you....check ebay. I got a set of 02-06 lights on there one for a good price. Then I think you can by the aftermarket boards fairly cheap too.
