This really only applies to those with uConnect 8.x, but in some cases it applies to all of us if we use mopar.com and the MyRam app...

TL;DR is that even though this article mostly centers around the European Union, it may have security and data implications for those of us who either buy a used truck, or sell our uConnect-enabled truck to someone else...

First thing you should do if you sell a "connected car", eg a Ram 1500 with Uconnect and registered on the MOPAR SITE, is...

1. Call FCA/UCONNECT and have them delete you as the registered owner of the truck... This also deletes the vehicle profile on the mopar site.

2. Do a factory reset the next day of the UCONNECT system.

3. If you have an 18 using Sirius Guardian, cancel that subscription as well.

4. If you have an 18 using the hotspot function, call AT&T and cancel your subscription.

5. If you have SiriusXM, call them and tell them to delete that RADIO ID from your account. If you only have one account, ask them to delete you as a user.

Just traded my 18, and I hope there is no left over data from ME in that vehicle.

That's going to be the weird part... I always buy used (one year back or so), so I fully expect that I'll likely get a few interesting surprises the next time I buy a truck. :)

Its funny that you mention that. I still get Uconnect updates on my old RAM but hell I sold it to my best friend so its actually kind of funny when I tell him he needs to air up the right front tire or some ****........but yeah I can see where that might be a problem in a lot of cases.
