I'm looking at the Pacesetter longtube headers, but the are powder coater. I've had headers with this same powder coat and it just burns off and then rust forms, wat can I do to prevent this from happening if I buy these??

Ok kool never thought about wrapping them... But do I need to strip off the original powder coating first before wrapping? And how many feet should I use?

You need them ceramic coated not powder coated. Wraps attact moisture in a DD, works good for track setups but a DD is gonna see rain.

^^ beat me too it about the fiberglass wrap. They'll hold moisture and cause your exhaust to rust prematurely

Yeah the wrap is good for a straight up race setup that gets trailered in an inclosed and stays in a garage.

Had ceramic coated headers and had them wrapped to and also had wrapped shorty headers on my d/d mustang and had no rust problems not like i went running 90 mph through puddles.

header wraps also cause pretty bad pitting of the metal. ceramic coating is the way to go, both inside and out.

Definitely do not do a wrap..buddy did it on some headers and they lasted a year before they started to rust badly.

I know a lot of people do ceramic coating but it's quite expensive. I got a set of used Doug Thorley headers for my '04 and they were a little rough. I cleaned them up with sandpaper (surface rust) and then cleaned them with mineral spirits. After that I rinsed them with water, dried them, and then used VHT header paint. They still looked perfect after two years when I traded the truck in. It's a nice, easy, and cheap alternative.

Yep agree with everyone so far, get them ceramic coated, NO header wrap. On top of all the previously posted info, most wraps will void any manufacturer warranties that come with the part. So if the crack from the pitting rust prematurely etc you wont be able to return them or get anything back.

Don't get me wrong, the way I did it will not keep heat in like ceramic, but it worked great for me.
