Tonights episode they have a Power Wagon, man I really want one of these trucks.

They looks so capable on and of road, although, I would really like to see a 1500 Power Wagon.

Thoughts on the Wagon?

I always kind of thought that. I have seen some pretty impressive pictures on the forum though. But a 2500 is a big machine.

Too big to be a "praticle" off road vehicle. Its for show and wide open areas.

IMO

thats a subjective statement. totally depends on what your definition of practical is. For comparison a jeep wrangler is smaller, super capable off road and can make tight turns a heck of a lot easier, but you have almost no room to carry any gear with you, and the backseat is almost useless for passengers.

a 2500 really isnt that much bigger then a 1500, especially a lifted 1500.

If I could print money Id buy a Power Wagon and a Wrangler. Both are pretty much the best at what they are.

Id love to have a power wagon, don't get me wrong. They are very capable off the lot. A jeep, on the other hand, is not. There are tons of upgrades that need to be done first for moderate off roading. Jeeps are over-rated... But an amazing platform to build off of. I love hearing them dana 30s snap like twigs as soon as you put some 35" tires on it.

I fully respect a built jeep.

Im sure we all have different definitions of off road.. Im just thinking along the lines of black diamond trails at a minimum. Not a gravel road.

Much rather have an xj than a wrangler.

True that. I was actually picturing a built up Jeep in my head. Tho then when you add all the weight to it with mods it's under powered. I guess one of the biggest strengths of the Wrangler stock is its size/wheelbase. They nailed that originally. A Rubicon is still a pretty good deal right out the factory. Here's an interesting article i read a few weeks ago: Jeep Wrangler vs Mercedes G550 vs Toyota Land Cruiser Comparison

Give me a list where I can look up these black diamond trails. I'm used to the Funtreks rating system, I have Colorado, Utah, SoCal trail books and stuff right now.

Corral canyon is probably the worst there is in my general area (within 1hr). Which is where I go :)

Bronco peak, sidewinder and the connector.

The connector is the double black diamond .. I haven't done it yet.. But I will if you do too :)

(Trail ratings only apply to the area.. A black diamond at one place may not be the same at another. Its just the hardest in that area alone... So those would probably be a 6 in your book with the connector being 8-10)
