I ran one for 4-5 years but it was mostly to compensate for running long tubes.
Took it off when i added a 180 t-stat.

EDIT: oops sorry i did not realize you were looking for 4.7 owner experiences.

Bump for ya, I'm sure there will be a difference, but prolly nothing you'll feel by "seat of the pants"

Found this:

They give an extra boost at wot, and ''supposedly mpg's ,
It shows a lower air temperature than what is actually being sucked into the motor, making the pcm admit 2% more fuel than normal. It does not hurt the motor in anyway and can be removed for epa testing.

I was one of the guys that first tested the power wire when it came out. It tricks your computer into thinking that the air coming into your engine is 20* coller than what it is actually reading. This causes the computer to feed your engine a little more fuel. I tested this at the track and on the dyno and never saw a positive or negative gain from it. Only thing that changed was that my mileage actually went down instead of up.

Ok, so you "trick" the computer by changing the perceived air temp. The computer has a table for fuel requirements at given temps, and adds a few percent more fuel. What stops the o2 sensors from reading the rich mixture and compensating by shorter fuel injector cycle rates?

The most notable change I noticed in my 4.7 was the aFe followed by the Super Chip program. I never look at MPG. Ever. Throttle response and acceleration is what I wanted. I got it. I dump 93 octane in the tank and roll away. I'm a happy camper.
