So as some of you may know, my personal opionion about leds in quad housing isn't road friendly. I'm mostly disappointed because I really like the brightness, the instant on, and the 30,000 hours life (maybe bs, but even if you get half that..that's good).

For you headlight swapping guys, what would be a good option for around or under $300? I'm really hoping this will be an improvement. I've roamed ebay and seem to have found 2 that are compatible with an easy swap from quads. But they have tons of other unnecessary leds and halos that I don't really care for, and I don't know the quality of them.

Good return policy is a must ;)

Not an easy solution, but would give the best results: Retrofit your quads with a morimoto mini H1 projector. Would likely cost around 300 for all the gear.

Those ebay projectors will be an improvement over stock but the optics are not near HID quality.

I had those one from vip moto. Good customer service but not good quality in my opinion

One halo would not fire intermi tsntlly. Fit was kind of shotty. Had to elongate a mounting tab to make bodyline line up. I am pretty picky though.

In my opinion there was just to much that could go wrong with them with all the halos and stuff. Did not see them lasting.

Also. Aim was way off. Could of adjusted but by that point i just ended up returning.

Not to mention the gobs of wires u hace to tie in on the back.

Nope lol.. I seen that when it was originally posted. That requires some work.

There has got to be a simple plug and play solution out there with a reasonable price.

All I'm looking to do is get some sort of "cut off" with these leds, basically reduce the glare better than the quads.

I was looking for some the other night after seeing what you said about the opt7's. From what I've seen, it looks like the best option is to spend $500ish on OEMs. I looked at eBay and they are selling them individually for $239-260. Kinda stinks there aren't any good options cheap.

The only problem with that (I've considered it) is that I already have the bulbs for quads. This sucks.

I don't understand what the differences are between the different lenses and all that ****, mostly focused towards hids. Ive read through every thread I can find about projectors, but nothing comes up about how much they improve the leds glare.

Sucks because I want to order these headlights yesterday lol.

Really the only thing I've found that pertains to my searching is that the dust covers wont fit over opt7 in the spyder lights.

If you keep an eye out for TYC's you can probably snag a deal. I found one of mine for $100 and picked the other up for $220, both new.

I'd ask Drummin4jc/Adam what housing he's using since he has the Opt7's and isn't using quad lights, all his pics make them look like he doesn't have the scatter/glare you experienced. Yeah, I didn't think about having the two sets of bulbs already. I'm in the same boat though. After thinking about stuff the last few days I'm holding off on them until I get a viable solution to the scatter/glare issue.

Have you checked any salvage yards around your area for OEM projectors?

Tyc compatible with 9005/H11?

IMO

Someone would need to confirm. I have no clue, someone may buy the ones you have and then you can get HID's. I went down the led rabbit hole and am not going back. Maybe for some fog lights they would be great but not head lights.

Lens and housing makes all the difference. I'm sure the spyders will be an improvement but near hid quality they will not. As long as you can get a solid money back guarantee, give it a shot. Worst case, you send them back, sell your leds and buy a pair of tyc projectors (450 a pair) and an adapter at about 150. Keep the quads for when you trade in. The tyc might gain value over time as they will be hard to come by.

24poepoe has quads, I went off of his pictures before I bought mine. You can see that there is clearly a cutoff that mine didnt provide??

Is there a way to adjust the cone thing in the housing (glare shield?)?

Don't think you can adjust the cone. I just looked at these two options...seem cheap but let's you keep all bulbs.

Black Fits 2009 2016 Dodge RAM LED Halo Projector Headlights 2010 2011 2012 2013 | eBay

EDIT: Crap...didn't pay enough attention about the bulbs...sorry.

I did not have a good experience with the Spyder quad lights and the Opt7 Led lights. The pictures actually make it look better than it really was, if you can believe that. I wound up doing the Morimoto H1 retrofit from TRS and HID lights. Literal night and day difference.
