Just curious, one of my friends does some nice custom dodge diesel work and he was able to find me a set of 2009 Ram 1500 wheels off a Hemi.
We installed them (including TPMS we took off my 17's) onto my 2014 V6 Pentastar 4x4. They look amazing and feel great, below 100 kilometers per hour.
Anything at or above 100 kilometers per hour (up to about 140 i tired) I get some vibration and even the steering wheel shakes a little.
Is this mainly due to balancing? We didn't balance, but I am okay to take it somewhere to get it done if it's needed just wasn't sure.

Sounds like it. A new 2014 shouldn't have issues, and it didn't happen with the original tires?

thanks powerbrad; it did'nt happen with the original wheels/tires, was silky smooth. now even smoother and much better/firmer road feel which I like, but only when under 65 miles per hour. anything above is vibrations so going to get them balanced (my friends shop didn't have the balancer).

Road force balance the tires. I bet that'd solve your issues.

Thanks WhiteExpress.
Yeah i kinda figured was balancing but wasn't sure becuase the wheels with tires mounted were slightly bigger/taller when we compared them (1-2 inches). Gonna get them balanced and hope it solves the vibration.
Let me tell you, the 20 inch wheels really make the truck. It's like a completely different truck in the looks department.
:peace:

Quick question, when you say "raod force" balance is that a specific kind or if i just go to my dealer and ask them to balance it's all the same?

Thanks again.

I have been so busy with kids, work, and other stuff haven't even washed the truck since I've owner it (5500 kilometers ago lol).
But these rims just make it look amazing.

Well, I went and got the wheels balanced at my local Consumers Tire.
Not sure if there is such a thing as "bad balancing" but the shakes and vibrations are still there. Not sure what to do at this point. What else could cause it? Or should I take it somewhere else and get them balanced again?
