Putting 36" IROKs on with only 2.5" level and have a question

Got a quick question. I'm currently running 35x10.5x17 SSRs on stock 17s and am going to be mounting up some 36x13.5x17 IROKs. The SSRs don't rub at all and I'm not worried about the IROKs rubbing because it would probably only be at full clock. My question is, do yall think the IROKs on the stock 17s might rub the knuckle/spindle? With the SSRs, there is only about half an inch between the tire and knuckle.

They will definitely rub due that extra width, That size Irok is a fat pig of a tire, I had some on my jeep. You might want to check Interco's website as well because usually the skinny tires (10.5) like you have now run a little small to size and in my experience the Iroks run way big. My 36x13.5s were actually 37" in diameter right on the money. To be completely honest I think these tires are going to be a headache and a half for you unless you lift more and run spacers.

The cross section on the SSRs is 11.6" and on the IROKs it's 13.8". Looks like I'll be buying some 1.25" spacers. Thanks for the replies guys

When you get spacers, look and see if you can get hubcentric units.

I bought the G2 1.25" spacers. If I have room in between the knuckle and tire I'll buy some smaller ones as well as a set for the rear so they have the same stance

Fyi, those tires are not going to be just one inch bigger in diameter, probably more like 2" Even with spacers you are probably going to rub your bumper/and or fenders.

Yea taking them out wider is just gonna cause bumper and panel rubbing towards the cab.
I would advise against this. I ran 14" wide 36.8" tall tires on a level with body lift and even after a cutting wheel it was miserable to drive having to watch how tight I was turning and such.

Yup, they'll be around 1.5" bigger in diameter so .75" on each side. Will be perfect as the 35" SSRs were a little small....they looked like 33s

You must have been running some wide rims or something. I have ran a ton of 36" tires on stock rims under my trucks with only a level/T-bars cranked up and never had issues. My 36x13x16 TSLs rubbed just a little at full clock.

Let us know how it works out, i hope you dont have any issues because the Iroks will run a full 37" in diameter while those SSRs you had really come out to 33-34"

Will do. I'm waiting to mount them til my SSRs are shot so will probably be another month or so

Bump because I'm looking forward to hearing if this works or not. Considering I couldn't pull it off with 5.5" of lift and 10" wide rims. Maybe the tire will sit in a sweet spot and fill the well nicely and miss everything. I can't wait to see it. Wells stuffed like that with aggressive tires will be pretty slick.

Hopefully you can find a happy medium between rubbing on the inside of the tire vs rubbing the fender/wheel well. One other thing to consider is how wide the wheels are compared to the min recommended by the tire company. Too wide a tire on a narrow wheel can cause cupping or unusual wear.

Well, here it is....36's which measure closer to 37" with nothing but a 2.5" level. No rubbing at all except full clock to the left. The rubbing is very minor on the driverside plastic and I will be able to fix it with some zipties. I ended up needing 1" spacers so they wouldn't rub the knuckle.
