I recently swapped out my standard 2012 Ram 1500 CD stereo with a new nav stereo.

My father-in-law would like to take the factory CD stereo and stick it into a small van that he uses overseas. Is this practical? I wonder if that'll even work with today's data buses and so forth....

No not practical. It'd be cheaper and MUCH easier to just buy a CD stereo. That being said; do people still use CD's? ;) I haven't used one in years.

Actually I put a boat-load of MP3 and WMA files that I like on a data CD and play them that way, like a big round flash drive. You can get a ton of music on a CD as a data disc.

I didn't realize stereo/speaker bundle kits were so reasonable at places like Walmart, etc. Would be perfect since they'd have everything included. Thanks
