Just purchased a new limited 1500 5.7 . I did not buy warranty. My experiences. Had a Yukon that had a 100k factory warranty on transmission. It had problems at 110k. GM paid 2k of the 4500k. So I'm out $2500 which is what the policy would have costs. I also had another vehicle that had 256k on train no issues. I rather maintain the Truck and figure in 2800 plus ahead until I get unlucky. There are too many ways they can decline you.

That's how GM builds their vehicles - get them just out of warranty so they don't have to pay. I have worked for GM and a couple of their suppliers, and the general rule is to get it over 100k and under 150k so they don't have to pay but it won't last forever.

There aren't nearly as many ways to deny it in the MOPAR extended warranties. They're pretty all-inclusive, and provided you have a good relationship with your dealer's service center, they shouldn't give you much trouble about it even if you do some mods. I mean obviously if you're doing something stupid or dangerous they won't cover it, but failure of a non-wear item is pretty much no problem.

Too funny. Dealer tried to sell me a 3rd party extended warranty along a bunch of other add-ons, but I declined. Then FCA/MOAPR sent me a letter in a few days soliciting the MOPAR extended warranties.

That...seems like a kinda shady dealer. Mine went right for the FCA warranty, though they were more than the email notification I got about two weeks later.

They did offer some of those paint and fabric protection programs, which actually ARENT covered by the FCA warranty past so many miles IIRC. But they didn't offer a 3rd party extended warranty.

Mine is Car Chex Titanium plus 3 yrs 45,000 miles. I’ve got a ‘12, 37’s, front Thuren adjustable track bar, lower radius control arms, CAI, and American Thunder Cat back dual exhaust. Had to use my warranty twice and the only hassle was replacing factory sealed front axle ujoint’s. They only would pay for Borgesen greasable units so either way it wasn’t an issue. They don’t even bother to ask if the Truck is modded at all. But it’s 138.00 a month.
