so as yall know ive been doing a lot of work on my truck well while researching converters I seen a guy putting fluid in his converter. well when doing my cam I had to take that cover off between the tranny and oil pan to drop it a little. well it stayed dropped till I was pretty much done and when I finally got under there to put it back on there was some kind of oil or something but up enough that oil from the oil pan couldn't have gotten there so I figured it was just the rear main seal(even though I don't lose any oil) and that I would replace it when I put a torque converter in.
so the question is could it have been my torque converter leaking? I have noticed for a while now that when I get up in the morning and go to leave that it goes straight into gear but doesn't want to move till I give it more gas. kinda like trying to take off in a standard with the clutch pressed almost all the way in and slowly(really slowly) letting off the clutch. I understand what torque converters do but don't know if they have seals that go bad or what.
next question 2800 or 2600 stall? I live in wv(all mountains) and don't want to be whining it out more than I already do trying to get up hills but I also want it to take off like a bat out of hell. I don't tow much but I am the only one in my family with a truck so yall know how that goes.
next good brands of torque converters and would I need a tranny cooler or anything else besides

I'd do a 2800 circle d or edge 11" and get a factory 1 ton trans cooler from a dealership. That's should set you up pretty good. As far as the leak I am not 100% on what it would be

Do you know what gears you have, I know guessing 3.55's. If so and your worried about to much rpm, 4.10's would be a good choice for you over the 3.55's

pretty sure 3.92 gears. so its pretty much 4.56 or nothing cause im not gonna waste time with 4.10's if 3.92 is whats in it

ill do some research on those two thanks for giving me an idea of where to start. the leak has to be coming from inside the bellhousing somewhere whether it be a leaking tranny seal, rear main, or torque converter. I just don't know what would leak besides those things hell I didn't even know fluid went in the torque converter till a few hours ago which got me thinking about that fluid I seen haha oh and tranny fluid is good checked it while I was doing cam

Sounds like you have converter drainback. When it gets cold the little check valve in the filter lets fluid drain back and it takes a minute or 2 for the pump to fill it back up again.

Can someone watch this video and tell me if I have the 1 ton trans cooler already? I think I do since its and 03 with the tow package

Looks like the smaller cooler. The 1 ton version will cover the radiator from top to bottom.

This was the stock one in my truck. I have the tow package as well:

This is the 1 ton cooler:

Is there a reason people spend 100 bucks more for the mopar one instead of the dorman
918-230 which is only 80 buck?

Because it bolts right in. Take the little one out put the big one in and be done. All the mount holes and hose connections are in the same places.

So I'm trying to order an edge 2800 tc and I gotta know everything in the world haha I know my cam specs but don't know my gears(either 3.92 or 3.55) I'm assuming 3.92 since it's a quad cab with a tow package. I also don't know motor plate distance, vehicle weight, or hp/tq numbers haha I'm pretty unprepared

Plug-n-play plus OEM quality.

Well that one bolts right in to the same truck so I don't see why it wouldn't be the same as the mopar one. But trust me I understand the oem quality though but I also understand how how mopar parts are about twice as expensive then other ones. Like the mopar oil pump is way more expensive than the melling one yet melling makes the mopar one. The cooler looks the exact same but I got the dorman one and temp guage so I'll let yall know how it works out. I think it will be the same thing but if not yall were right and I F'd up haha live and learn

Order it from Moes. He'll take care of all that for you.

You don't need a trans cooler, that one is plenty big enough, same one I have, a lot of the other ones have one half that size. Your all set man as far as that goes
