I have been contemplating swapping the intake manifold on my '15 5.7 Ram 1500 with a 6.4 intake manifold. There is one available here out of a '16 Charger SRT with 6.4 injectors and TB.

I would like to know if the 6.4 car intake manifold is a bolt on over the 5.7 or do I have to make some changes besides the tune and CAI?

Is this a proven swap with a tangible benefit or are you pioneering something?

I know on 90s V6 Mustangs you could stick the intake manifold from a Windstar minivan on them with the hood from a GT (to clear it..) and pick up a dramatic increase in power, but that was mostly due to how awful the pre-2000 V6 intake manifold was not how great the Windstar one is. In other words I don't think our 5.7 manifold is a huge bottleneck like that, is it?

No gains from 5.7 truck to 6.4 SRT manifold, both have active intake runners. Plus the battery is in the way on the driver side so the filtration would be congested without relocation.

I haven't come across anyone who has done this. Was hoping to get a truck 6.4 manifold and upgrade the cam for off-road performance. However the only ones i can get here in Dubai are the SRT 6.4 manifolds.

Would 6.4 truck manifold make a difference? Iv seen quite a few members here with those mods. How is the 6.4 truck manifold different than the 6.4 srt manifold besides the throttle body location?

Taller intake for longer runners will promote more low-midrange power.

People speak of more peak gains but I have yet to see back to back track numbers or dyno.

The SRT manifold points the TB towards the driver side.

There are documented dyno gains on various setups with 5.7 hemi engines.

I believe if you wanted to run the car style manifold you'll need the LX timing cover also.

6.4 car intake would also entail alternator mounting issues. Stick with your 5.7 truck intake if all you can find are 6.4 car intakes.Spring for a ported 6.4 truck intake from MMX as posted above

Thanks a ton! That was informative. Gotta find a truck one now. Like the car, would the truck 6.4 setup require MSD switch?

That i believe would be the best route. But is just the intake upgrade worth the trouble?

The truck already has the srv so no need for the window switch by just switching to the 6.4 truck manifold. Depends on other mods. Long tube headers and a cam make the manifold worth it otherwise not really.

Exactly what crazy said however you have to extend those wires to the front of the truck 6.4 manifold. Where it's on the back of the 5.7 manifold is the complete opposite of the 6.4 manifold.
