I'll be towing a U-Haul auto transport trailer behind my 2013 3500 mega cab 4wd, but U-haul says max. hitch ball height in 25".

I have a Class V receiver hitch. When I buy the the 2" x2" ball mount adapter, how much of a drop should I look for to stay below 25" max hitch ball height.

Anyone know the pavement to Class V receiver height on this unloaded Ram?

Thank you!
David

You also have to know how much the ram will squat with the load.....so you can adjust for it.

Don't worry about the 25", worry about what height it takes to get the trailer level.

Very good point.

I checked with U-haul, and they say max. tongue weight on the auto transport trailer in 750lbs. and the max. tare wt. you can haul is 5290 lbs. Max GVWR is 7500 lbs. (those trailers weigh in at 2210 unloaded).

My Forester weighs 3090 lbs. so I'm estimating a tongue weight of 500 lbs.

Anyone know how many inches a 2013 Ram 3500 dually mega cab short box will squat with a 500 lb. tongue wt? I'm guessing a couple inches or so.

Thanks
David

With only 500lbs tongue weight I'd be shocked if that beast even twitched.
