RAM 2016 5" Radio Upgrade to obtain Apple Carplay

Hello. I have a RAM 1500 with the stock 5" radio. The part number as listed in the Settings section is 68271365AD.

I would like to upgrade this radio to obtain Apple Carplay. I looked at going the Crutchfield route, which will get me a new headunit along with the wiring harnesses. It looks like I would have an aftermarket microphone though.

Is it possible to replace my existing stock radio with something else to obtain Apple Carplay and retain the microphone that I currently have integrated in the vehicle?

If someone has a suggested route to obtain what I am looking for, I would really appreciate it.

Also, the only modification (if that is what you want to call it), is that I did install a PAC BCI-CH41 that allowed me to install a backup camera to my existing 5" display.

Retaining the factory microphone will not be an option with an aftermarket setup. Many upgrade to the OEM 2018+ UAQ/UAS radios as @chri5k suggested which will do everything you are wanting...
