17-24 4th Gen/classic are the sweet spot on the 4th Gen in my opinion.

** As far as I am aware, No 4th Gen truck has eTorque (5th Gen only) and you can get them with 3.6L Pentastar v6 or 5.7L v8.
... I lost $$ on 22 eTorque I had to trade in b/c of issues with it stalling that couldn't be fixed. (Had one that was fine also). My 18 Laramie v8/8spd was rock solid as was my 13 SLT v6/8spd.

2018/19-24 classic 4th gens were available from factory with 8.4 UAq or UAs radios with wired Android Auto/Carplay support. (13-17's can be upgraded to run that radio, but it's easier to get one with it originally)

I refuse to discard my cd’s. 45’s, ok 8 trk , well sure, cassettes , the flipping the cassette sucked and the ones with reverse play sucked too. So. I’m done throwing out those disc’s which are quite fragile.

I had bilstein struts on my third gen. Self leveling. It seemed to “ max out” that cv joint. But never had a problem.

40,000 miles in one year. Lot of highway miles in one year. Off a lease.
Well maintained documentation to 58,000 miles. Then the truck was leased. A whole year. With nothing done but fuel ?? Ugh.

Exhaust manifolds needing repair are very common, but to me not a huge deal and seems to happen on most v8 1/2 tons across the brands. I also find front wheel bearing go around the 100,000 mile mark. Front ends are pretty bulletproof. Rear brakes I find need replacement more than average, but the fronts last pretty long. I've had ticks, but never lifter failure. Have had 3 rams in my orbit that have over 200,000 miles on them and a couple more with over 100,000 in my driveway. They all needed wheel bearings around the same time, all needed at least 1 manifold repaired and all still run great.

I also have a ton of CD's, but have taken the step of loading many to thumb drives to save space since I can put multiple albums on one drive. Every now and then I just have to grab a CD not on a thumb drive yet.

I used to have many cassettes but ended up trashing most of them because of no longer had anything to play on. Never had many 8 tracks but once had a big monstrosity of an 8 track player in a car many, many years ago.

Here's the WIndowSticker and BuildSheet

That's practically a Laramie with the way it's equipped, and has the ramboxes too (I won't get a truck w/o them after having them). v8 with 8spd trans and 3.92 rear end. Has the 4c Radio with Android Auto/Carplay. Only thing it's missing is 32 gal tank and vented seats.

Hopefully it's in as good condition as it sounds from your posts. Best of Luck.

I say get what you want and don't worry about what years are the best? They all have some issues.
According to the internet, the 03 Hemi is the worst one to have for reliability, but mine has been totally maintenance free since I bought it ~10 years ago and now has almost 180,000 miles on it.
I'm sure glad I didn't read any reviews on mine before I got it because I think the 3rd gens have the best body lines of any of the Rams up through today.
Some years they just "hit it" perfectly and they become timeless imo.

Thank you Mpg. Now my task is to get the ole lady on board. I know if I wait this truck will be gone. It’s probably gone already, physically, with all the sitting it’s done. Even is it was garaged it’s still a lot of sitting.
