NOTE: Feel free to enjoy the diatribe (and my follow up responses), but the thread served its intended purpose. If I can find a way to delete it, I will, until then, be entertained.

———

I purchased our 2023 Hemi 1500 upon the recommendation of our son-in-law (RAM mechanic) since he knows them inside/out as he works on them daily.

However, the RAM service in our town is so incompetent/unprofessional that it looks like we’ll be forced to drive 3+ hours round trip to have him personally service it, moving forward.

After the Dr Jekyll treatment in the sales department, I certainly didn’t expect this Mr Hyde treatment in the “service” department.

Guys, please don’t apologize, that only makes you come across as insincere.

All I need is you to accept responsibility…closing in on three weeks for a radio replacement is utter BS. Add that I’ve yet to receive a single return call (other than during the 3 days following the sale)…now it’s getting pretty damn personal…

I’m selling this truck now that the warranty is virtually useless with the travel time to use it because Freedom DJR of Sherman, Texas will never have to deal with me again…at least, if I ever even get my truck back.

Then I’ll see if they even addressed the cruise that randomly took off at full speed after not working at all…utter BS.

How to respond to a one poster that dumps diatribe like it's a used diaper going into the genie!

Brother, yes, it sucks and perhaps your first experience wasn't favorable!

However, you are on THE Premiere Global Forum as it pertains to Ram's, and currently flushing the toilet like it's a T_u..r-D deposited by Hercules himself.

Respectfully, your "experienced" family member should have highlighted some of the nuances inherent with our "chosen loved brand" before you chose to purchase... those being the UConnect system, the exhaust manifolds, and the HEMI tick, prior to your purchase.

I believe your feelings right now would have been better prepared for what could be a more likely experience for you had that been the case! Just my $0.02 though.

Granted, the dealerships you've dealt with at this time have been far less than stellar and have undoubtedly tainted your overall perception and experiences to date...

But, there is real escalation available to you... not to mention a database on our forum that would undoubtedly afford you the knowledge on how to advance at this time prior to this post.

Now, I get you're disappointed and venting hard. We all get that.

But, take a breath, search, prepare, and then escalate accordingly ;)

Every brand of truck has its issues, Ram is no different.

But, being prepared, informed, and calm will net you far better results, IMPO.

I personally hope you get the resolve you're looking for.

not to be a smart ass, but, that statement kinda threw me a little.
I’ve got nothing other than what I said, he’s a couple of hours away and

Fair points, all.
This thread was about the dealership, not the truck, which will likely have much more nuance, as you refer to issues that all vehicles have…not my first vehicle, I have never had a great one since computers were added, but I do enjoy the convenience they add/shrug.

After several attempts to get to anyone to give me an answer, I turned to this burn-the-bridge tactic. It worked, I now have 1/4 things fixed and my truck back in my possession to determine how/where to handle the remaining 3.

I sincerely meant it about the points you made being fair; they all are.

I knew what this diatribe would cause and did so with thought and as a last resort.

In 4 decades of vehicle ownership, I’ve never had to act thus to get action. It boggles my mind, but as long as I can find a service department that will give me one thing, direct, honest communications, I’ll love my Ram, I’m sure.

Had a 12 and a 17 Ram. Never had a problem with the uconnect radio...or, well, never an issue with anything in the cab.

All of my issues were under the hood. Wife still thinks the Rams were the best looking trucks.

Ain’t no truck purdier, in my opinion it has become a bit more “tinny” as it got larger, and the more the computer took over the more delayed the response times, but it sho is a beaut

Ok, it took my aging brain a bit to get that…lol. Yes, he works at a dealership, not working on his RAM daily.‍♂️

I've very recently experienced something similar
Left a bad taste for me after many years of purchasing from "them" ... very disappointed and left me in a position to move on to a different brand, altogether.

We genuinely enjoy our RAM overall. I hope the service communication issues resolve. So far, I’m not even getting responses from other dealerships in the area when I looked elsewhere. Enjoyment or not, if we can’t use our warranty, we’ll move on as well. We’ll see.

These trucks are built with hundreds of parts by people that don't like us, and serviced by dealers/shops that hire people that are called technicians ,(because a mechanic can actually fix something), and you expected sunshine and roses. Welcome to the real world of today.

It truly feels that COVID has been used to excuse the death of professionalism. But yes, I naively expected a different level of service from such a loved brand.

Love the brand, disappointed in the service. Just remember, a farmer rents out his bull to service the cows. Pretty much sums it up I'd say.
