If you're referring to the lower gears, they actually help in the city. Highway is where they will hurt you a little over 70mph.
My guess is the winter fuel is negatively affecting mileage as it does for most. How much idle time are you seeing? Warming the truck up and sitting in traffic doesn't help.

Idle time definitely affects my average. Why I said sport earlier though was cause the dealership here told me all sports have 3.92 gears. They may have been mistaken.
Either way, I think over the life of the truck one with 3.21 vs 3.92 gears with similar driving history, the 3.21 geared truck would have the better fuel economy. Just my opinion though.

Exactly what is your city driving like? Lots of stop and go? Idling?

That is a pretty low mpg unless you spend most of it idling or stop and go.

I get about 14-15 in the city and 24 on the highway in my 2015 crew cab 4x4. It's better in the city than the srt challenger I traded it for and gas is a lot cheaper.

I also have a 2015 Sport CC. I get 12 towing a 5,000 pound landscaping trailer. When I unhook and drive home on the highway I get 20.

When I first got my Sport I was getting 18.9 for the first month. Now that I am not taking it easy on her I get 16.2
But I really do not do a lot of city driving. All freeway back and forth to work.

Same here, 18.9 freeway back and forth to work when I first got it and was paying attention to the mpgs. Now I'm lucky to get 14, but I also apply liberal use of the right pedal and there is one section where there are three chris-crossing overpasses, that require me to be WOT to hear the resonating exhaust.

City is a relative term, New York City is one and Lodi, CA is another but a rural city. One you would be lucky to break 10 mpg the other probably easily 17 to 18 mpg.

You have a new truck still breaking in, take it out for some long open freeway driving to settle in, go easy on the gas pedal, coast when you see the light ahead turn yellow. You are also in the winter fuel season, 1 to 3 mpg less than summer gas.

These are heavy vehicles feeding almost 400 horses, takes fuel to get that moving.

My 2014 with 8-sped and 3.92s averages around 19.5. I'll get 23 on the highway all day long.

No point in buyin the good hi oct fuel if your truck is not tuned to run it,kinda like those fools who bought that whistle for their exhaust to SOUND like a turbo....I dont know what they call for on stock tune but your just wasteing $$ with higher than required..Now with a tune for the higher grade fuel then you buy what the tune requires..

I get between 15 and 22mpg depending on time of year and city/highway. I have a heavy foot in the city. No issue with our mileage.

Was getting mid 14s, but been in the 13s the last few months.

I got almost 20mpg last summer on a road trip. So I'm happy with that, with this big ole boat and 22s that works for me.

I get about 8-9 in the city, if you're getting much more than that, I'm guessing my wife would probably prefer to be YOUR passenger. :roflsquared:

I get between 15-22mpg depending on weather conditions and depending on how aggressive I drive. With my new BFG KO2's my mileage dropped .5-1mpg. Depending on gearing & tires, the mpg will vary.

I get about 15 around town. Have not taken a long enough trip to check hiway mileage. I have however proven to myself that I can get about 8 around town if I drive like a kid--stop light to stop light and hammering it getting on the freeway. I think that mileage has more to do with the weight of your right foot than it is about what you drive---at least with a hemi. If your unhappy now wait till the gas goes back up to $4 a gallon.

i just ran a full tank on my 2016 CC sport with 3.92's and it was all city driving, did not hit a freeway or long stretch of highway once. Just around town running errands...lots of stop and go city driving, about the worst mileage conditions possible. Averaged 14.5 mpg.
