2008 Ram - hit a bull moose at 55mph, completely wrote the truck off, engine snapped right off its mounts, frame buckled, roof caved in, my wife had moose blood on her lap and I had to kick my door to get it open but neither of us had a scratch.

2012 Ram - slid on a long corner during an ice storm going ~50mph, went off the embankment (no guard rail) fell 10ft straight down into a rock creek bed, truck did a full roll over and came to a stop on its wheels. Roof crushed down, "broke the trucks back" and the box had pushed into the cab structure, blew out the windows, again not a scratch on us.

Great trucks for safety. Can't speak to aluminum trucks, I just know our Ram has always kept us safe.

PS: Both accidents deemed not our fault, had new vehicle replacement insurance on them and the company had to buy us brand new trucks each time. I'm one of the "few" who has most likely come out ahead on insurance as they've paid out about 100k for trucks for me.

As stated above, its usually better to just brake and hit the deer instead of swerving. That's a tough instinct for some people to over come though. Trucks can be fixed, or replaced in this instance. The important thing is that you're ok.

Drive safe folks!

A little rubbing compound should take care of that!
