As I typically do with new vehicles, I was crawling around the interior of my new 2019 Laramie Sport and happened across a plastic bag with some electrical plugs and brackets. I found them under the rear seats and haven’t the foggiest as to what they’re for. The bag has a part number sticker on it, but my searches came up empty. Maybe someone knows what they’re for???

I also found a random loose trim piece (helmet looking doohickey) that I can’t figure out where it should be installed.

Check it out

The biggest one looks like a dummy plug for the tailgate harness. If or when you take the tailgate off you would plug the body side of the harness into it so dirt or water won't get into the plug. The smaller connectors would go into the tailgate side to keep those clean as well. The dome shaped thing I have no clue

Ok, I don't even have a 5th Gen, but I'm following this just to see what the dome shaped piece is! :) My 4th Gen only came with the others.

3rd-4th gens all new trucks with rear camera have this kit in the vehicle. And if it’s an hd it has a couple more items for changing the tires. There’s another accessory kit for tow pkg too

Yeah, a 2019 Laramie 4x4. It’s definitely not under my rear seat as I prop those up often to put things (and my dog) back there.

Makes sense for tailgate removal. Good on Ram for putting it in....i wonder what else I might find lying around.

I also went through the online manual last night and quickly scanned through tailgate removal. Maybe I missed the part about install the plug assembly.

I think I might know what the dome piece is. I was just watching a Jeep Wrangler video and it looked like they had the same part. Check your front seat belts where they bolt to the B pillar. I think it is the cover for the adjuster.

You, my good man are a genius, that’s exactly what it’s for. Both of mine are installed, so I guess I have a spare now[emoji3].

Thanks a ton for the information.

The curved ("helmet" looking as you said) piece is obviously a cup-type (as in athletic cup) apparatus. You provide it to your passengers who own ford and Chevys, as their lil gurl ballz cannot take the aura of sitting in a Ram without damage.
