how much work is it to put 6.5s in the front doors? Ive got some Boston Acoustics components that I'd love to amplify, but I know the factory cutout is 6x9.

Not hard at all. You can make your own adapter plater or spend 12 bucks on amazon and buy one. Either way you really can't go wrong for time and money invested.

Well I recieved the wiring in the mail today and to my surpise when i pulled it out of the mail box I almost dropped it, because I wasn't expecting it to weigh 30lbs. I have had 0/1 Awg kits before but they have been the lower end CCA kits and they weigh half of what this one does. I would hands down recommend looking into KnuKoncepts if you guys/gals are looking for quality wire at a decent price.

I used all Knukonceptz wiring in my car when I did my audio build in it, they make an amazing product. Got a steal of a sale on a 1/0 IXOS amp kit, that was a beefy wire haha. Looking forward to seeing install pics

I'm glad there are people that have good things to say about KnuKoncepts, because I wasn't sure about it when the price of other dual amp kits with OFC were almost 200 bucks. This Kolossus wire is pretty cool with how flexible it is. It doesn't even hold the shape of the spool which is awesome cause then I don't have to lay it out in the sun for it to heat up and flatten out. Thanks for the comments guys.

You'll be very happy with the KC stuff.
CCA wire is for kids with smaller budgets.

Right I didn't put much stock into wiring until I saw a writeup somewhere that posted how CCA can actually make your amp clip at low levels. Like I've said before this will be my first build that is done right so pretty sure down the road I will be adding an extra bat to make sure volatage on entire truck is as stable as possible.

you dont really need an xtra battery unless you are running big stuff...best thing to do for now would be the big 3 upgrade.

Skip the extra battery and get a bigger alternator. I use a DC Power 250 amp alternator with an XS Power D4800 battery and have zero issues. Big 3 was done with 0/1 gauge wire. It charges everything fine and I'm right at 2400 watts total.

did the alternator fit in place or did you have a custom bracket made?

Only reason I'd get an extra battery is for more ignition off time.
I find my stereo is always running while I do pretty much anything to the truck.

That being said, I've made it at least 6 hours w/o an issue with the stock setup.
Unless you've got it cranked up, you really don't need that much juice.

Actually this is what I was thinking about when thinking about getting a second bat. My wife has a black car so guess who gets to detail it every weekend lol. The truck does provide most of my listening entertainment when working outside. Thanks again guys.
