I had the same issue with my 1/2" spacers as well. I ended up going with 1/4" and just moved the speaker up 3/4" inch to clear the black plastic behind it. Once I did that the door panel would go on.

I'm slapping my forehead right now. Moving it up a bit should have been obvious--the kappa's are so thick at the base they butt right into that plastic. Hopefully that will do the trick.

haha I know the feeling, My first thought was to trim the plastic then realized moving it up was easier
