I recently installed a Rough Country 6" suspension lift kit on my 2010 Ram 1500. My truck is 4WD, and I had done some light offroading previously with the lift lift kit with no issues shortly after I installed it.

However, the other day I was in 4 high, and as I was turning around I heard a loud grinding noise. I put the truck back into 2WD and got out to look at what happened. One of my CV joints on the passenger side half shafts was warped, but still inside the CV boot. Was this because of the added stress of the lift? My truck has just over 100k miles on it so I'm guessing it may just have been worn down over time.

I can't add images at the moment, but I will when I get the chance. Any feedback of what may have caused would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping it's just the half shaft that needs to be replaced and nothing more serious.

Yes, that is the only form of lift the truck has. I have 35x12.5 r17 Nitto Trail Grapplers for tires.

The lift kit has brackets that lower the front differential in order to maintain proper geometry. That is why the kit also has a drive shaft spacer. The axles should be fine.
