I've been following several threads and doing my research and I am ready to pull the trigger on my mods. I'm going with the bilsteins to level the front and going to add a zone 1.5" body lift for extra clearance over the 35" tire i want to put on. This is where I have some questions

1st: Goodyear Duratrac or trail grapplers?
2nd: I am looking at the Fuel off road crank rim 18x9 w/-12 offset. Will they fit with the new clearance? They have -6 offset in that rim too.

I am struggling to find anyone who will do the body lift for me. The one shop I found wants to charge $800 in labor for the BL install. That seems steep to me... Any thoughts what I should pay for that.

Thanks in advance!

Both of those offsets will work fine w/ 4" + lift..
I wouldn't pay over 300 bucks for someone to install the 1.5" bl. Installed the 1.25" and wasn't that bad

Most shops charge a lot of BL but as Jake09 said, they are easy to install. Both leveling kit and BL can be installed at home.

Offsets will work. I would go trail graps if it was me. Also look at the pro comp MT2. I have heard good things about them.

Just a curious question, why not just do a 4-6" suspension lift? Rather than doing a leveling kit/BL stack. Usually it isnt much more but IMO looks much better. I would look into it.

I've heard from a couple people that the pro comp tires didn't wear all that well and they had issues with them. I'm toying with the idea of doing the install with a neighbor who is experienced with these mods. Just a little nervous since I'm inexperienced in these things. Such a nice truck, I'd hate to mess anything up... but I don't want to waste money either. I'd love a lift but was quoted $3,00 (install and all). That's a little pricey to me. Thanks for the feedback on the offsets, much appreciated. I'm leaning towards the trail graps too.

where are you located??? That is crazy... My shop quoted me around $500 labor on installed with alignment and all...

In my opinion, the suspension lift is just as easy of an install.. Did mine with a few buddies in 8-9 hours.

Trust me, I was just as nervous on the install. Literally had just hit 6k miles on the odo when I did the lift.

I'm in Denver. Half the shops just flat out refused to do the BL because they said it's so labor intensive. The only shop (a vendor on here) not to give me trouble wants to rob me blind. That's what got me nervous about doing it myself. Maybe I'll price out the suspension lift. What do parts typically run on a 4" suspension lift? I would love a 6" but the wife has her limits :slap::slap:

well there isnt a huge difference in price between the 4-6".... and the height wont be crazy different with 35s.. So i'd go 6"

I think RCX
6" - 1399
4" - 1249

There is no doubt in my mind that I'd really like the 6" lift, it's selling the wife on it. With a kid on the way she wants it to be kid friendly.

I hate to disappoint everyone but I'm sticking to the level and 1.5 BL. Just found a shop that'll install both for $400. I was just settling on the idea of doing it myself but for that price, my time and sanity is worth the $400 expense. As much as I'd love to put a 6" susp lift on this truck, it will have to wait. With winter driving conditions in Colorado I'm leaning towards the duratracs. I keep changing my mind on the rims tho. I'll be sure to post before and after pics. Thanks for all the advice. I've got about 2 weeks until scheduled installation.

Will still look great man! 2.8" bilsteins and 1.5" bl on 35s! the tallest basic 6" kit only lifts 5.5" in front anyway so you'll only be about 1" lower

Thanks jake09. I still need help with deciding on a wheel. I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around the offset, back spacing and rim width. I am now leaning towards the moto metal mo962 18x10 with -24mm offset. Will this fit? Will it make the 35" tire look beefier? Could I get away with more?

Yeh that offset will work..10" and -24 offset will stick out about 3" prob with a 12.50" tire. Idk if you plan on fender flares or not

I personally always regret not going wider on the wheels. I went 9" on my last truck and hated it. So now I have 10" and want 12". But personally x10 is the best look IMO. Mine had no problem in snow but I don't have any deep snow storms.

Haha idk if the width of the wheels would cause the barrel roll issue?? Maybe driving habits haha

agressive tires and wide wheels on slush is a bad combination. i've run sand tubes in the back ever since and have had zero issues.
