talk to banks today, the rear end has a larger ring gear and the covers from the 2018 will not fit the 2019.

There’s a link to Dethloff’s sway bar spacer in my build thread in my sig

i thought i made it crystal clear. pw still uses 11.5 14bolt '14-present. the non pw trucks after '18 are using a new rearend. if banks cover is for the 14bolt 11.5 then it fits your pw. banks likely is not familiar with pw. or else you didnt tell him specifically what truck you had

Below are some pictures showing the different axles. Both trucks were 2020's. Sorry for crappy pictures as they were taken at night. The PWs are a low volume model and most of the manufactures don't pay attention to them. Ton of misinformation.

no I told them exactly the vehicle I had and spoke with an engineer at BANKs.The engineer told me it was different, and this is coming from a company who was trying to sell me a product. Why would they not want me to buy a product?

He was telling me in honesty it was different and not to buy it. I even pointed out your comments in this post to the engineer. After looking at the pictures I get what you are saying. I’ll get the link and post in a minute

Why don’t you call banks tomorrow and discuss this with them since they need to be corrected. and maybe I can get my finned cover then!! Lol.

this is the cover- https://www.bankspower.com/i-2892-d...8-14-bolt-rear-axle.html#wsm-prod-tab-details

it is a 14 bolt 11.5

Unfortunately the engineer does not realize the PW's come with a different axle than regular 2500s. I changed my rear fluid and it took the same gasket as the previous years. I assume they kept the same axle because they did not want to invest in making a new locking differential. I have read that the new axle has 16 ring gear bolts.

Take a look at the diff cover comparison on this webpage. (They don't mention the PW difference either)

they might not of wanted any investment in a new lock mechanism. also the regular 2500 might of got a payload or towing increase that warranted a larger axle. just a guess. pw capacities are well below that of a regular 2500. certainly larger axle isnt needed. on the other hand, sharing common axles would standardize things better. its a double edge sword i guess

So a couple of articles mentions the 5th Gen Wagons do retain the 11.5 AM, albeit one said the pinion angle had been changed to reduce noise and vibration. In another article the standard 2500s are now sporting 12 inch AAMs.

As far as I can tell only the 3500 Cummins HO trucks get the 12" axle. All other trucks (except PW) get the updated 11.5".
