So there's two types of halogen projectors where the 2013-2015 is 9012 and the 2016-2018 (2019 and up for classic) is 9005. What was the reason for the change?

The 9011s are used for both the high and low on 2016+ for better light output, the 13-15 used 2 different bulbs for the high 9011 and low 9012 ... The change was due to the lumens , the 9012s are 1875 lumens and the 9005s are 1700 lumens .... the 9005 SL are 1875 which is the same as the 9012s, so they were able to use the same bulb for highs and lows with the 9011s which are 2350 lumens ...
