I’m looking for a mostly rust free frame and body (on a budget) for a “forever truck”, meaning when the times come that it needs an engine, transmission, suspension, whatever, etc I will be prepared and willing. Assuming the following truck fits my needs and currently runs and drives well, what would y’all offer the guy? Thanks

1) I don't care what he says, 486,000 miles is A LOT.
2) Tiny bit of rust beginning to form on right side rockers.
3) Couldn't be bothered to clean out the back seat to take pics.
4) Only one daylight pic of the exterior.
5) Front bumper is bent.

Your area might be different but I would be thinking $10k tops, but I wouldn't say that to the guy until looking it over and test driving first. That number could go lower if there are issues.

I can’t see the ad since I don’t have a fb account, but I would never make an offer based on pics and description alone. I can’t say this is the case for this truck, but you also don’t know how long ago the pics were taken. I would only be able to estimate a value after seeing it in person. Only you know what you’re comfortable paying for any given vehicle. If you’re lost as to what to offer you might want to do some research on other comparable vehicles in your area.

5k, max that would be drivetrain only. The rest is, well old, worn out and no telling without a very close visual inspection.

In my area, a lot of guys would be asking 15K for this thing. Not to say they would actually be able to sell it for that but I can't imagine someone even entertaining 5K.

I see guys all the time selling absolutely rusty **** boxes that are completely falling apart, that they think they are going to get seven or eight grand out of because it's a diesel.

Haven’t looked at ad. Does it really have 486K? If it does exit stage right.

I never EVER offer less than 75% of the asking price

And as a seller, if you offer me less then 75%, I'm not even waisting my time responding to you

Regardless of what something is actually worth, if the buyers and sellers opinion on it are more than those 25% apart you're not going to agree on it anyway

tuned, that would turn me off, 3 owner so who know what it has done.
The diesel condition will set the price.
If it's a far future project, I know it never turns out good.
Buy something when you have time to get at it.

At that milage, it would have to be dirt cheap, unless you just need parts or a beater in the field.
