Remote start OEM - Xpress (DBALL) - Viper

I had a viper system back in the day which I could, while the truck was running, press the remote start buttons and it would allow me to remove the keys and leave the truck running. Does the OEM RS allow this? If you press the DBALL (lock) button 3 times will it keep the truck running? And, if anyone has a newer Viper, will they keep the truck running?

It's a great feature, if I'm running into a gas station or what not I can keep the truck cool without turning it off then back on. Heck, just checking the mail, my mail key is on my keyring and I could keep my truck from shutting down while checking the mail.

The dball just recently allowed the 3X lock to be reactivated so they can now do the RSR by pressing the lock button 3 times.

This will work by pressing the lock button on your OEM remote 3 times. After that the vehicle will start and run for 12 minutes by default. You will then unlock the vehicle and get in and put key in the ignition and take off like normal. If you hit the brake before inserting the key then this will turn the vehicle off as a safety precaution.

What your referring to is what we call "key take over" in the industry. This is done when the vehicle is started with the key, you then come to a stop and press the lock button 3 times with the key in the ignition. This will then let the remote start take over. Will allow you to get out and lock car and come back and insert key and drive off without restarting. We do carry this product so if you guys have any questions please feel free to ask.

To answer Your question, yes the new Vipers ( and Avitals and Pythons...all made by DEI) have that feature on most upper models. It's called Pitstop... Your welcome...
