Rental Ram 1500

So my company has a GM fleet of 1500s. They are ok at best, I'm still searching for the horsepower they advertise. Recently one of my coworkers had a combine hit him on a rual road....redneck...I know. Our rental truck is a Ram 1500 with the 5.7 and 8 speed, this is the first time ive driven this combo. Well done Mopar, the truck will $(!% and get with the best of them. Now I still love my 2012 ecoboost but I have an appreciation for what Ram has done.


I monitor this forum because I strongly considered a 6.4 2500. My next truck will be a 2500...so I'm still monitoring the forum . Anyways, congrats to Ram for making a heck of a truck!

No problem! I'm pretty open minded when it comes to trucks. I love the sound of a V8, I find the 3.0 ecodiesel intriguing, and the torque right meow of my ecoboost a towing pleasure. We live in a pretty good time these days.

a rental 5.7 with 8 speed is the reason i own one now.

my coworker has a 2015 gmc 4x4 with the 5.3 and he had his truck in the shop for hail damage. they gave him a hemi with the 8 speed. he said he too loved driving it and will consider ram next.

I really liked it, I test drove several. I wish they were more common with 4.10s. I couldn't believe the ride quality and daily drivability of the 2500 vs the others.

My wife is very anti dodge (domestic vehicles for that matter. I knew as soon as I had a flat tire she would complain " It's because it's a dodge".... I ended up finding a smoking deal on a f150 max tow so that's I went with.

Funny I had a flip of this story. Owned a ford that had to go in for paint ork under warranty. The rental I got was a ram. Whoever had it before my trashed the truck. The rear diff was leakIn all over my driveway. Got under and The Who,e drivetrain was wrapped with tall grass and mud. Returned it and got a ford lol.
