Help!
I have a 2002 ram, 5.9 engine, 46re trans. 4x4.
I removed the trans because it would not shift.
I had it rebuilt by a transmission shop, with a new torque converter.
I installed the trans. On the first start up there was a Tapping Noise, along with a rough idle. Also the cam position sensor code came up

Removed the TQ converter cover. did not see any anything rubbing.
Now Im stuck,

Have you dealer do a transmission quick learn if you haven't already. I don't think tapping, rough idle and cam sensor has anything to do with the new trans. Diagnosis each symptom, repair and replace as necessary. Good Luck

Shouldnt need a quick learn if they rebuilt YOUR transmission and not a doner they had on hand. When the trans was reinstalled, did you pinch any wires or bump the sensor? It should be in the back of the engine (believe that is where it is at on the Hemi anyways).
