Has anyone been able to reprogram/change there rear tire pressure so the tire pressure light doesn't come on.
I have a 2018 RAM 2500 Turbo Diesel HD truck.
I no longer tow any heavy trailer etc.
I would like to switch the tire pressure down to 60psi from 80psi, for a smoother ride.
I was told by my dealer that it is not possible.
Thanks for your reply.

You can change it with AlphaOBD, I did. The dealers probably can do it but it could be that they don't know how or that they don't want to chance legal action should you get into an accident if your pressure is too low or too high.

I used AlphaODB ('18+ require security bypass cable). I tried to set it to 60 but it set them all to 55. tried it 3X and still could not get it to 60

Do a search on this forum for AlfaOBD. You will find a mile long thread on how to change the lower threshold tire pressure setting and many more things that you will probably find you may like also . There are also many Youtube videos that walk ya through the process using the app. Its fun little app

EDIT: alfaobd.123982

Just got done changing the thresholds on my 21 2500 gas using alphaobd. Went from 65 rear, 60 front to 50 FRONT 45 REAR. I am running 45 all round right now. WAY better ride. Low tire warning alerts 20% below the set threshold so 40 front and 36 rear.

All you have to do is buy AEV PROCAL, you can adjust the TPMS and Tyres, SpeedO and a bunch of other stuff. PN: 3040620 AEC-Conversions.com pretty cheap in America.

But y'all still might have to adjust the TPM unit with another scan tool.

Hope this helps and have a good one

Having problems with “Conditions cannot be verified.” Using AlfaOBD 2.5.3.0 and there have been some changes since I last used it. I also found an extra cable (going to nothing) plugged into the canbus below where I plugged my security bypass cable into. I plugged my cables into the first available port after any existing wires, so this was put in after. My worry is that the dealer locked MY ECU.

For now, I can’t figure out how to get my threshold lowered to a reasonable daily driving pressure for the rears. I’ve done this half a dozen times and now I am stuck.

Never mind. Got it. Had to reboot the laptop after updates.
