RES to REN upgrade(?) no uconnect

I have recently upgraded(?) the RES unit with uconnect to a REN unit that has the buttons for uconnect but they give a not equipped message when you push it. I am wondering what I need to retain uconnect on the new unit as I had it on the older RES unit. I also have the self dimming mirror some say it requires.
A back up cam would be sweet also but not for 500.00
Any help would be much appreciated.

If uconnect was working with the RES, it should work with the REN without any changes, direct swap, plug and play. They both use the external uconnect module, I'd double check the wiring connectors, maybe a bent pin or something not making a good connection.

I just came back inside to say it decided to work after a battery disconnect and restart..... Now how to delete this thread
