Alright in your experiences and opinions. If it checks out and was repaired properly, is there a reason not to purchase a truck that has been salvage-rebuilt titled? I am not concerned with resale value. Thanks y'all

Make sure your insurance company will insure it. Not all will.

Personally, I'd stay away from it. But if it was a REALLY crazy good deal and I wasn't worried about selling or trade later, It would depend on the why it was a salvage.

Flood? No way. Also, I would lean toward a truck with rear or even side damage causing it to be totaled over anything in the front 1/3rd of the truck.

The advice about insurance is good to. Not all insurance will cover a salvage.

The opportunity to purchase a 16k truck for almost half that is very tempting if it was repaired properly.

I have owned a few vehicles that had been in a wreck while I owned them, and after being repaired they are never the same as they where before the accident. I would not do it.

I purchased 2 when I was in high school. First car '05 Focus in '06. Second was a '07 Cobalt in '07. I think the biggest thing is drive it at a high speed and see if it has any shakes or anything. For half off you can afford any minor repairs that may come up down the road. I don't think any bank will finance it so it was hard for me to sell them.

I would google the vin and see if you can not bring up pictures from the salvage auction and see how bad it was hit. If it was a bolt on fix i would not worry about it. If it was a truck that was rolled over or destroyed i would really want to look into how it was fixed. I have seen guys fix trucks that needed a complete body but had a good frame and they pieced them together. Took 4 trucks to make one
