Self leveling air bags and truck camper

Hello. Has anyone had experience using the factory self-leveling air bags with a truck camper? I have a 3500 Big Horn dually that I’m putting a 4K lb camper on. Will the factory air bags suffice, or do I need to scrap them and install load lifter bags. Thanks.

What are you actually attempting to do with the bags? Air bags will not raise your cargo capacity any. All they will do is help level your body.

Only trying to level the weight of the camper. I have no experience with the factory air bags and need to know if they can handle leveling a 4k lb camper. Payload capacity is not an issue.

I don't personally have experience with the factory air ride system. That said, there are several people on here who have it and love it. There have been a few issues with the system shutting off IIRC if it's overloaded. I don't recall any specifics but searching the forum may lead you in the right direction.

As long as you're below the payload of that specific truck, the factory bags should function just fine. That's what they're rated for.
