Hi everyone,

would like to have your experience and input of the sequence of various engine performance upgrades.

I have 2011 5.7 hemi, crew cab 6 speed 3.55 gears

have drop in K&N filter
Diablo I3 with 91 octane tune

in terms on next steps what will add more performance as to the best use of limited resources. This is a daily driver and occasional tow vehicle, pulling a 7 x 14 tandum trailer with 2 950 lb touring bikes inside.

im not interested in changing rear gears, so please do not focus there.

I'm thinking custom tune
85 MM TB
Short headers as I have 2 broken exhaust manifold bolts on the driver side

leaving exhaust for now.

should i do these in a different sequence, should i forgo any of these,

thanks for any feedback.

Of the three you listed I would recommend the custom tune first, then the headers and then the TB.

Maybe all the upgrades first and then a custom tune that utilizes all your upgrades

You set on short headers vs long tubes? Possibly get a full cold air intake even if you go with shorties. I understand you want to leave exhaust alone but you can free up exhaust flow without having to be too loud. I would look into doing those little things BEFORE a custome tune as it will be custome to what you have on your truck.

Of the items you listed the one that will have the greatest impact on the performance of your truck is going to be the custom tune. If you do the tune first and then add the headers your tuner can make changes in your custom tune to account for the headers. Hemifever does it for free if he does your custom tune. If you have broken manifold bolts it would be a good reason to replace your stock manifolds with headers. Long tube headers give you better performance overall, however they are more expensive than shorties. Shorties will give you a performance boost and they are cheaper than the long tube headers.

Thanks for feedback, I've sent an email to hemifever hopefully I'll hear back in a couple days. I researched Jay Greene as well but I don't do Facebook so I could find no way to contact him.

Shortie headers seem more my style vs long tubes, I want to keep stock exhaust for now and I like the bolt up aspect
