Service 4WD & traction light

So occasionally I have been having my service 4WD and traction control light pop up. When I put my truck in park, it locks the shift column. The way I can get out of it is by turning the truck out and then turning it back on. Has anyone had this issue before? Or has anyone heard of this. What could be the cause or possible causes to this?

Get the codes retrieved by someone that can retrieve abs/communication codes. Could be a brake switch but finding out what codes are set will help give some direction.
