Hey all, I just installed one of these in my friends Camaro and was saying how awesome I thought it was and that I wanted to order one So he decided he would order me one as pay back for helping him with his Long tube install and various other things. Im super excited to get it. One question tho, does anybody know what wire to Tap into for the signal?

From instructions
Green Wire – This is the Tach input to the module. This can be either from the Tach line of the engine
computer or from the switched side of an ignition coil.

Idk where I want to set it to come on tho. I was thinking a lil above 5K as iv noticed that's about where my truck falls on its face, tho If I set it a little higher Ill be setting myself up better for the next gear.

#8 injector is typically the recommended source. I just used my #1 coil since the dealership used that for rpm wire for my old factory remote start.

Mine is set up for 6400rpm which i can only get that high when manually shifting (7k limiter on my custom tune). 1-2 normally lands @ 6800-7k and 2-3 pretty much spot on.

My WOT shift limiter in D is 6100rpm.

I like that spot, I was thinking of there, or on the underside of the lip above the gauge cluster or inside the Vent to the left of the stereo but Then I thought the heat wouldn't be that good for it in the winter..Ill have to find a spot when it gets here. AS far as tapping the injector or coil pack. with the key on there should be a +12, ground, and signal wire correct? Just gotta bust out the multi meter and find the signal and tap it.

Yep.
I was thinking on why you want it set to only 5k but then noticed you have a stick LOL.

Yeah, stick 4.7 with stock cams and gears. This motor is really only useful from 2.5k to a little over 5k at this point. someday Ill get some cams and gears.

so looking at the coils and injectors today. They all have two wires going to them, one wire in common which is green with orange stripe this is the +12V while the engine is running, the other wire is unique to each component. so is this the ground or driver? do these things activate by the pcm switching the ground? anyway downloading the 03 FSM right now, IDK what happend to my 02 one and i cant find it on the forum anymore so this will be close enough

Edit, my guess was right on lol
4.7L V-8
Battery voltage is supplied to the 8 individual ignition
coils from the ASD relay. The Powertrain Control
Module (PCM) opens and closes each ignition coil
ground circuit at a determined time for ignition coil
operation.

After reading around on what everybody else is doing I'm just going to tap the driver off of number one injector. Should be here tomorrow so I'll keep you guys posted.
