Hello,
I’ve been meaning to change my “little” light bulb that illuminates the gears “P R N D” on my 2011. I don’t have a part number for this bulb and will most likely buy off Amazon. Anyone know this part number and also any advice on how to change it? Another question I had was how does one remove gear shifter knob?
Thanks for any info!

Ive been following all the brave people on these forums on how to change this bulb and being a new ram owner I didnt feel comfortable taking apart the console so I fished around and found a "secret door" that gives you access to the shift linkage and the bulb holder. Open the panel on the drivers side of the console, look up to find the black bulb holder (red and black wires), twist slightly with a pair of needle nose pliers, replace the bulb and put it back together again. This method takes 5 minutes as opposed to an hour. I also have read that the bulbs are impossible to find. I walked to my local hardware store and picked up 2 different sizes and they both worked fine. One was a Philips #74 bulb and the other was a philips #12516. Both types are the same wattage and both are a bit slimmer than the factory EWG203 bulb but function the same. I went with the 12516 bulb. ref. to pics. hope this helps. ram shifter light 1.jpg ram shifter light 1.jpg ram shifter light 2.jpg ram shifter light 3.jpg

Spyroshima thanks for sharing the information!
By chance might anyone know which fuse to check if replacing the bulb does not resolve the issue?
