Has anybody ever shipped a grill? Nobody want to purchase local so I'd like to sell here. Just not sure how to ship. TIA.

I use UPS, they have different size boxes you can pre-buy or you can just have them pack and ship. Your box might be approximately the size of a bicycle box, you could try estimating that. The other thing is search through the old for sale and wanted posts, you might find someone that shipped one.

Go onto the UPS website. You can enter the package dimension and weight and get prices for various destinations. But as @pacofortacos mentioned, be prepared for a shock.

I often have large and/or heavy items I'd like to sell but shipping makes it impractical because the cost of shipping adds so much to the price that few would be interested.

I shipped a 2012 grill with UPS halfway across the country for a member here. IIRC it was $60 with my own box.

Dont use OfferUp shipping!

Someone listed a Laramie grill on OfferUp and for some reason OfferUp set the shipping cost to $9.99. Im not sure who bit the price difference but I ordered it and paid $94 SHIPPED for a mint condition 2016 Laramie grill......Arrived packed well in great condition.

Its like shipping anything else - just package it well, get insurance (make sure its enough to cover the sale AND shipping cost) and use a good carrier (FedEx or UPS). Take good pics of it before and inside the package if you are really worried about it. Hardest part will probably be finding the right size box, but you can try Home Depot or Lowes, or even FedEx/UPS themselves. Staples has a lot of odd-sized boxes for purchase, you would just need to wait for them to show up mail order.

Mopar ships them in a box that has these dimensions

27" long
21" tall
10" thick

The 10" allows for some packing material on the sides

My rough guess is that it weighs 25 to 30 pounds for the
cardboard box
grille surround
grille inserts (2)
the piece that allows the top of the grille to bolt up to the radiator support

I would compare prices between UPS & a regular trucking company, like;
