I kept getting obsessed with the idea of getting a spare truck. On October 12, I went to Houston and purchased the last one of these:
2018 RAM 1500 Tradesman
Regular Cab - 6'4" Box
3.6L V6
3.21 Axle Ratio
2WD
Trailer Mirrors + Trailer Braking
Vinyl Seats + Vinyl Flooring
Chrome Appearance Package
5" Touch Screen Display
I have driven around 700 miles so far. I feel good driving it and it handles well.
I shouldn't whine about this but, so far, the mpg seems to be less than my 3.6L V6 Quad Cab (3.55 Axle Ratio). Maybe this could be caused by more frequent down-shifts (due to lower axle ratio, 3.21 versus 3.55) when I go over humps (over-passes).
I am still adjusting to the Trailer Mirrors. I don't like them flipped out (My preference.) I haven't read the manual yet (like most people). Are there Trailer Mirror tips/instructions in the manual/documentation? It appears that the right side main mirror actually 'magnifies'. Is this correct/normal? What is the reason for this?
Thanks.
