Stupid RFS (Renewable Fuel Standards)! I would run ethanol free every time I was given the chance, better for your fuel system. I had to be super careful of what gas I ran in my skis. They didnt like the ethanol blended crap at 12-14 pounds of boost. There was one gas station by my house that sold ethanol free gasoline I always frequented.

ive tried the 89 and 91 ethanol free gas. filled tank both times. i didnt see any difference in either tank. no improvement in mpg or running. i have a 2016 sport 5.7 with around 25k on the clock. its not worth the extra money spent IMO.

Had exactly the same experience. Not worth it.

It’s funny you guys say that, I just recently moved from Cali to arizona, while my daily driving style has had to change due to the environment my fuel mileage has takes a massive hit for this, which is completely understandable. But what I was hopping for is when ever I would take a trip on my motorcylce after a tank or two of non California gas as I headed east across the us my bike got better fuel mileage and ran better. Your current fuel may be good enough quality that you don’t notice a difference by running the non ethanol
Fuel. Truck will be due for a fuel up in a week or two and when it is I will try it and report back, I assume it may take two tanks to make a difference, Time will tell.

Its not a performance aspect of why I would run non-ethanol. Its the absence of a lot of alcohol, water and other crap in the blended gasoline.

You have to make your experiment with as little variable as possible. tank with ethanol and a tank without it, you will have to drive the same and experence the same situations. I did more that one consecutive tank to make my judgement call. i drove the same route every day. drove the same way each time. i same zero difference between the two.

If you see a difference between driving in Cali and AZ then its not the gas its the environment, gas type, AC usage, driving styles. You have to compare apples to apples not apples to pineapples.

Ive tested both ethanol blends as well octanes as my trip is very cookie cutter for work. I work 44 miles round trip 95% highway. I hit 1 light on my way home every night getting off the highway so I can predict pretty well my mileage.

My 4x4 2014 crew Hemi 3.21 gears truck my hand calculated average in these tests was 19.7 mpg

Of all the tests, all the octane, and this was summer so 90 degrees every day so full a/c my average changed less than 2% over all the different fuels. 2% is too small a margin to determine better or worse when cruising. I get to the speed limit, set the cruise control and sail the rest of the way. My best economy to this test was 91 octane with up to 10% blend.

Im not 100% certain but city mileage may very but there is no way to be consistent in rush hour to try.

Now if we were talking straight E85 that is a different animal. My previous car could run that stuff and you see nearly 50% drop in economy. If the fuel was that much cheaper it would make sense but its not. My BMW sure did love that stuff though. I could run more boost and timing. Getting 10MPG was really hard on the ol wallet.

As far as damage to the fuel system, has anyone seen any problem with 15% ethanol gas? There are a lot of vehicles running it with no issues
