Hello forum!
I have Fox 2.5 coilovers with the adjusters on the front of my 2012 Ram 1500 4x4. I’m thinking about selling my Ram. If I trade it in, the dealer will likely not give a sh*t about the $2500 shocks I paid on the front and just give me a low KBB price for the truck.
I wondering if if you all think it’s worth the effort (and time) to pull them off and put the Rancho quick lift shocks on or the Fox 2.0 coilovers on? I have both sitting in my garage. I upgraded and just kept the old stuff.

Do you think it’s worth the time & effort to swap them out and sell the Fox 2.5’s to get back, I dunno $1,000?? Or just try and sell the truck as is private party and hope a buyer appreciates the truck as is??

The short answer is yes. These trucks KBB very low, so I would say keep and sell off stuff that is of significant value if you're trading it in. At least imo. It's a pita but at the same time the used market is saturated with these trucks so anything likely helps your wallet.

I would say try private party sale first as you may get a bit more, albeit with a bit more hassle.

Fwiw I would say 1/2 price a pair of MSRP is a fair place to start on a set of 2.5s in good shape.

Dealer wont give extra for the coil overs, private party buyer may care or may not care as well. If you have all the stock parts to put back its worth to swap them and sell. If not and you have to buy coils and struts and all, then align the truck...it may not be worth the effort.

I do not have the stock ones. But I do have a pair of the Rancho quickLift shocks I first upgraded to. I also have the Fox 2.0 coilovers.
It was stock for a few years, switched my 20” (stock) rims for 17” Method and Rancho’s. Then upgraded to the Fox 2.0’s a couple years later. THEN upgraded to the Fox 2.5’s with adjusters.
That’s normal for a mid 30’s-40 year old man right?!?! ‍♂️♂️

As it was said the dealer won't give you a dime for the CO's, worst they'll remove them before putting the truck in the dealer lot and slap the cheapy struts back and make a profit on those CO's. You should be able to sell the CO's for at least half the price or more depending on conditions.
