a good paint job will cost quite a bit. expect 3-4K. That said, Maaco will do it for $600. LOL

A good quality paint job will run 6K+ on a truck. $600 will = zero prep work, no jams and **** paint. Most of the money will be into prep, that is everything.

3-5 years and you'll probably start to see bubbling or rust for the $600 paint job

Maaco can do a nice paint job but like JJ said it'll cost you

Us southern guys can get away with the cheaper paint jobs for longer since we don't have to deal with all the rust issues you do with all the salt and stuff they put on the roads in winter

:shakehead::emotions122:

Poor prep and contaminants under the paint will lead to rust and/or bubbling quickly (within two years)
If your paints fine, get rid of the rust, hit it with a self etching primer then an epoxy primer and bedline over it

Electric blue with black looks BA

I would say that you could get a decent paint job on the outside for around 2500 bucks.

Now before all you young dudes light up your flame throwers, this is gonna take some work on the OP's part.

I would check out some body shops when things are slow and they are looking for work. Negotiate with the owner, and be willing to do some work yourself.
That means pulling off trim, weatherstrip, bumpers, etc.

Now this job is probably not going to include under the hood, inner bed, and maybe the door jams, and you may have to do those with a preval sprayer, or it might if things are slow.

It'll certainly take more effort than rolling on bedliner or spraying >cough< plastidip. Mods so commonplace they're becoimming passe'.

The truck below is a $1600 MAACO BC/CC job...but MAACO quality differs from shop to shop. My buddy had this truck painted shortly after he bought it a couple years ago and was still winning awards here at local shows up until he sold it a couple weeks ago, looked really good and was very durable.

Well, you get what you pay for when you pay for painting, and what you're paying for is prep time.

Yeah maaco paint quality depends on the shop. One shop could have good quality and then you drive 20 minutes to another one and it could have ****** quality. I know on my mustang the dealer had the spoiler painted by maaco right after I bought it(put it in the deal, really wish I would've had them paint the whole car since it was only $500 extra) and even after like 15 months it looked like the paint on the new truck even though I only washed it like 2 or 3 times and never waxed it or anything
