What size, type and torque do I use for my Torx Valve Body Screws that connects my solenoid pack to the valve body? Been getting soo many different responses and figured the ram forum would have the right answer. Can anyone help?

What transmission you have?

Key Torque Specifications for 8-Speed Transmission Service:
  • Valve Body-to-Case Bolts: 10 Nm (89 in-lb)
  • Transmission Pan Bolts: 8–10 Nm (approx. 70–88 in-lb)
Important Notes:
  • Fastener Type: Always use new bolts if required by the kit.
  • Pattern: Use a star or crisscross pattern to tighten, typically in two passes (first to 5 Nm, then to final torque).
  • Context: These specs are specifically for the ZF-based 8-speed transmissions commonly found in 2013+ RAM 1500s. Do not confuse with the 68RFE 6-speed (105 in-lb).

When I changed the solenoid pack in my former 6 speed new screws weren't required. Might be different case in zf.

Since you have an RFE transmission, I torque the solenoid pack screws to
50 in/lbs. of torque.

When installing the valve body, the valve body to transmission case bolts are torqued to spec at 105 in/lbs.

I heard that the zf uses aluminum screws for the solenoid pack and they should be replaced. Can they be safely replaced with steel? Not sure. (edited: nevermind, just saw your pictures, you have the 6 speed. New screws not required, I didn't need to when I changed solenoid pack)

I know the bolts in the pump cover are aluminum and there is an upgrade kit that comes with steel fasteners for the pump cover but I don't remember the fasteners on the solenoids to be aluminum inthe 8HP/845/850RE.
