Do you disagree with this write up on their product? They have a good argument that I never considered as factual. Thoughts?https://www.randyellisdesign.com/store/p40/2500/3500_Dodge_Crew_Cab_Rock_Sliders_Body_Armor.html

a few options given but no one tried the rally Ellis design?

WOW, whos wheel is this and what size tire? Very nice!

My wife and I have had no issues getting a step purchase on the White Knuckle sliders. I don't regret not getting any type of top plate added. I do plan on getting the area used to step into the truck Line-X'd in the near future for some extra winter grip.

When I installed mine, I left just enough space to slide my finger between the top of the slider and and the pinch weld.

If you were to jack your truck in the middle on the step, how much flex would there be? I assume it will butt up against the pinch weld?

side note - where did you get your fog light set up?

Got mine raptor liner this weekend. Letting it cure till Friday and then install. Neil at Maple offroad said typically there is 3/4"-1" of gap between the body and slider to allow for body flex.31caadba3c02e5640c245625d3633fb9.jpg345d1be22f865a5d06db01b75b9cbd16.jpg

My dad is a wielder by trade and he told the the material specs are the best from Maple. I’m hoping that the sliders will help keep the mud sling down.
Congrats on the upgrade. Christmas came early in your home!

I'm super happy with the build quality on them. When I was priming them I had them both set up on Saw horses and stupid me trying to muscle one of them over while picking the other one off one fell and put a nice quarter inch gash in my driveway. The slider was completely unharmed...lol

I haven't tried jacking it up yet. My sliders are .188 thick. I don't see much flex happening.

The lights are Baja Designs Squadron Sports. All the details (so far) are in the picture thread.

Question for the group. I was looking at the White Knuckle sliders pretty hard. Though now the Maples have my interest. However, the wife is 5'4" and is wanting steps. I found the RKR rails that you can add drop-down steps too. Though from what I'm hearing the RKR is not really sliders. Does anyone know of bolt-on steps that you could add to the WK or Maples? I've reached out to WK to see if they have a solution. Ideally, have the steps for running around and easier on the wife and kids getting in/out. When the real off-road time comes detach the steps. Granted maybe the WK or Maple will be enough for her, she can get in the truck without but finds it difficult, and winter is coming. Any suggestions on this one?

The previous owner installed them, but the mounts are Baja Designs as well.

Both sliders brands are built to suit. Ask for the hangers to be built with a 2-3” drop instead on getting another step because that will defeat the ground clearance need to heavy off road. If no rock climbing or stomp jumping then go with AMP. They come down 6” when you open the door and hug tight when the doors shut.

My truck currently has go rhino steps which sit right at the bottom of the cab. My wife who is 4'11" gets into my truck pretty easily. My Maple sliders aren't as wide for step area but there have been plenty of guys that have had them fab'd with a wider section for stepping on

That is a good idea on having the hanger being built a little longer for the drop. I wonder if this would have any other impact on performance besides clearance?
I also came across The action trac powered running boards that contain a recordable step. They do say they are not for rocker bars. Does anyone have experience with these?
We don't really rock crawl yet, but I'm wanting to head out west. Not sure if there is much hard rock crawling around the East Coast. The 2-3" drop might be fine around here, just not so much for the West Rocks.
I see this starting a chain reaction. Lower rockers, bigger tires, thus defeating the step :) At least I could say I bought you a step. :)

look at Maligator pictures again. The way they mount is a bolt on application, so the length of the flat bar is 3” longer (or whatever you want) and the holes are drilled higher to create the offset you wanting. The Maple set up is wider then my factory steps, so definitely can/is a step and slider all in one. I’m waiting for Maligator to bolt them on this weekend and post again before I decide on Maple over WK.

Hopefully Sunday, gotta work Saturday unfortunately mandatory. I definitely would've turned down 8hrs of time and a half to get these on Saturday [emoji1787]
