I run heavy equipment for a living the free fuel would be ok but you don’t always get it. What most operators carry in their trucks is a slip tank to fuel the equipment. The reason I don’t have a diesel truck is that they can be hard to start at-30c and I know that gas jobs can be too. There’s benefits to a diesel but there are drawbacks to
I always had Webasto diesel fired heaters. They burned way less fuel than leaving the unit running and it was a lot easier on the main engine.Never had any issues with the unit starting, even in -50.

How's that work? It is under the hood keeping the engine bay warm or is just circulating warm coolant like a little infinite hot water heater?

We had diesel powered heaters inside the M60 tank but it was just in the crew compartment, nothing where the motor was.

Theirs other things that they could add to the pw too make it better. Bigger gas tank lockers that work in 4hi inclinometer a second reserve battery recovery hooks on the back snorkel

So looking into it a little more, looks like the cummins power wagon is basically just the hd rebel that has a front locker added and the sway bar disconnect added.

It sounds like the suspension is straight from the hd rebel (hence why the payload and towing numbers are much higher than a normal power wagon). Also, the 20” wheels and 285/65 duratracs look like they came straight off the hd rebel.

They make a large variety. You can get ones that heat the coolant, the air or both. Check out their site. They are a great option.

That's pretty slick. I've used plug in coolant heaters when I lived in Kansas, but never something like that where it's mobile.

Yes, the big advantage was they work where there is no electricity. Some guys carried generators but they have limited use and unles plumbed in you had to keep them fueled up. I found these worked much better as you could keep the cab, sleepr and even the battery boxes and engine warm all at the same time. Litterally shirt sleeves in the sleeper at -55 F.

Not that im aware of. As far as i know, they still havnt produced them yet.

Winch is a no go due to the placement of something on the diesel motor (intercooler i think).
When I was in Dodge truck builder in 2021 I thinkniy was I could get one with the diesel. The option was there.

The heater in the tank was multifuel, like the tank itself, but the normal fuel was JP-8. The heater pulled from the tank's fuel, so no more than it used it was essentially infinite fuel supply.

However there were only two settings: "Still cold" and "cook the crew". If you turned it off, you couldn't restart it for 10 minutes or you risked burning the igniter out and not having heat. As you might imagine, the walls of a tank have a *lot* of thermal mass, so if you shut it off it was instantly cold again. You had to learn to regulate the temperature by opening hatches and periscope flaps strategically.

Their Build & Price says some wonky stuff sometimes, especially the Canada version. I got fooled by it offering AUX switches on a Power Wagon and spent a stupid amount of time trying to track down a part number that didn't exist to see if it could be retrofitted into a US spec Power Wagon. Somebody finally took pity on my ignorance and told me the website was wrong.

That makes sense because I was pumped when I found out I could get a diesel pw in the builder but figured for that price I could spend an extra 10k and get a real truck that has some dual wheels. I can add lockers and stuff later.

They should offer a 6x6 version of the power wagon with a choice of diesel or gas with the option of the 6.2 trx engine. Make the power wagon great again

I think it’s a PW in name only. Don’t see a way to make a soft, flexible suspension that can support a Cummins.

Im sure it just uses their “normal” 2500 springs. Hence why it has so much payload.
