The latch on the sliding rear window on my 2000 RAm1500 was broken when I bought the truck. I ordered and received a new 1 from Rock Auto. The plastic on the latch part where it's supposed to bend seems very stiff. I've watched 2 videos from 2 different companies and the latches they had appeared more flexible. Mine feels like,if I can even get it to bend enough to latch, it's going to break. the piece of the old 1 seems more flexible.
Anyone else have this issue? I was thinking if I lay it in the sun for a bit or heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer it might make it bend easier. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

Maybe you can file some of the mating surfaces to create some more give . With 25 yr old trucks sometimes a little tweaking of parts , to make them function properly is necessary.

Thanks for the suggestion. FYI the one I got is made by Dorman. The videos I watched were from A1 Auto. The 1 they sell is a different brand and I found a third brand. Don't know if they are easier to bend, but mine cost $5.22. The ones from A1 are $24.95.
